As always, we spent a bit of time with Cassio to run through our Q&A – to learn more about his aspirations working at Firemind.

Hello and welcome, Cassio to Firemind! For our viewers, could you share a bit about yourself and your professional journey?

Thank you for having me! I’ve had quite an interesting journey in the tech industry. I started my career as an Embedded Software Engineer, which gave me a strong foundation in low-level programming and system architecture.

After relocating to the UK, I transitioned into voice recognition technology, focusing on caller intention mapping and voice biometrics. This led me to the security and defence sector, where I specialised in AI applications such as entity recognition, knowledge graphs, and relationship mapping.

I then moved into the life sciences field, working for an AI startup where I applied my knowledge graph expertise to analysing sequenced DNA files. Most recently, I was a Solutions Architect specialising in AWS, helping organisations design cloud-based solutions. I’m excited to bring this diverse experience to Firemind.

What I value most about my career path is how each role has built on the previous one, giving me a unique perspective that combines deep technical knowledge with practical business applications.

How did you hear about Firemind, and what made you apply?

I initially learned about Firemind through colleagues from my previous company and by following industry news and discussions on LinkedIn. What particularly caught my attention was Firemind’s strong recognition from AWS in the generative AI field.

The company’s impressive track record and diverse portfolio of AI projects really resonated with my professional interests. I was especially drawn to the variety of innovative AI implementations across different sectors.

The opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects while contributing to meaningful AI solutions was exactly what I was looking for in my next career move.

What’s your new role at Firemind?

I’m a Senior Solutions Architect at Firemind. In this role, I’m responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions, with a particular focus on AI and cloud architectures.

Which areas of our business excite you the most?

I’m particularly excited about Firemind’s work in Artificial Intelligence, especially in the generative AI space. The rapid evolution of GenAI technologies presents incredible opportunities, and I’m genuinely enthusiastic about how Firemind is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation.

What excites me most is the potential to help organisations harness these cutting-edge technologies in practical, business-driving ways. Whether it’s developing custom GenAI solutions, integrating Large Language Models, or creating innovative AI applications, these areas align perfectly with both my expertise and my passion for emerging technologies.

What are your main objectives at Firemind?

At Firemind, I aim to help drive business growth by delivering high-quality AI and cloud solutions for clients. I also want to expand my expertise as a Solutions Architect, particularly in AI and AWS technologies, while taking on new challenges and responsibilities to develop professionally within the company.

Which part of your role are you most excited about?

I’m most excited about working with cutting-edge AI and GenAI technologies and turning them into practical, impactful solutions for clients. I’m particularly energised by the opportunity to work at the leading edge of AI innovation.

What do you hope to achieve in your first year?

I want to deepen my expertise in generative AI technologies while gaining a comprehensive understanding of Firemind’s service offerings and solutions portfolio. I’m looking forward to contributing to impactful projects that showcase our AI capabilities and deliver real value to our clients.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love spending quality time with my kids and being active outdoors. I particularly enjoy water sports and climbing.

What’s your favourite song right now?

That’s a tough one! I can’t pick just one favourite song – I have an entire playlist of songs I love. It really depends on the moment and what I’m doing. 😊

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Without a doubt, roast beef with homemade gnocchi. It’s a special dish that brings back wonderful memories from my childhood.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?

Seeing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) is definitely at the top of my bucket list.

What’s one skill you’d love to learn?

Kitesurfing is definitely a skill I’d love to master. It looks incredibly exciting and would be a great addition to my water sports activities.
