Kari-Pekka Pirinen joins Firemind as a Solution Manager

Hello and welcome, Kari-Pekka to Firemind! For our viewers, could you share a bit about yourself and your professional journey?  

My name is Kari-Pekka, and I’ve joined Firemind as a Solution Manager. My background includes working in presales and solution planning for cloud-based solutions, with a strong focus on operations and managed services. I also hold an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management.  

How did you hear about Firemind, and what made you apply? 

I was looking for new things to do, and I came upon information about Firemind planning to expand and set up roles in Finland. It sounded interesting as Firemind has already established itself as an AI and Data consultancy. My background in working with cloud-based solutions suited the role well. 

What’s your new role at Firemind? 

My role as Solution Manager is to listen to customers and plan solutions that would meet their needs and their context. Solutions can be helping customers define use cases, new development projects or support to maintain existing solutions. 

Which areas of our business excite you the most?  

I think two main things make Firemind exciting: one is the focus on AI and Data, which allows new types of solutions and innovations to be created. The other is the focus on customers’ business problems and the fact that Firemind’s solutions address those problems directly. 

What are your main objectives at Firemind? 

As Firemind expands, my role is to support that growth in solutioning, especially related to AIOps and managed services. 

Which part of your role are you most excited about?  

Customers are excited about AI currently, which makes my work interesting as AI is still relatively new to many people. It’s exciting to see how people are finding new ways to implement these technologies in their businesses. 

What do you hope to achieve in your first year? 

I would very much like to see myself contributing to new customer projects in the Nordics this year. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 

We have a Labrador Retriever at home. I also enjoy traveling, and during summers, we spend a lot of time at our summer house.

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be? 

Any type of pasta. Can never go wrong with pasta. 

What’s at the top of your bucket list?  

Difficult to say. We recently purchased a house, which had been our dream for a long time, and I haven’t yet figured out what other goals I want to set for myself. 

What’s one skill you’d love to learn?  

It would be great to learn to be less reliant on my phone. 

How do you wind down after work? 

I love a good board game.
